Case Fans
I know they make fan blocks that have three fans in one unit, but what if you have three LED fans and need to connect them to one header? I've seen the "Y" splitters that will let you connect two fans but I have three. My question is do they make a 3-way splitter and would one MB header even hanle three fans?
The reason I ask is my CM Cosmos S case has mounting holes in the top for up to three fans and I would like to put some up there, but I don't have that many headers left on the board. |
You should really try and avoid using motherboard headers for case fans, when I wired my fans for my external radiator I just made the harness and hardwired them all for 5v. You can buy those parts and pieces to make harnesses from Sidewinder computers or Performance PC's.

Thanks, i'll check those places out also. I did find this.....

That'll work for you. Like Hellcamino says, stay away from using motherboard fan headers as these are always a source of motherboard failure. I burned out one of my motherboards just from pluggin a fan into the onboard fan header.
Seems kinda stupid but the fan headers are a weak spot on the motherboard designs. |
Now all I have to do is find a place to mount that thing and a way to extend the wires on the fans to reach it if need be.... I'm starting to get a headache LMAO!

and so the crazyness continues. I bought a kit a-while back, think it was from performance-pc . Had a bunch of fan header extensions and stuff in it along with splitters and stuff.

I agree, stay away from the mobo headers and use the psu instead or a fan controller that is hooked to the psu.

I ordered that little jewel last night.

Give us a review of it when you get it and have it working!

I sure will... not a problem.
