Default Broadwell EX/XP skipped?

Some of our internal sources told us that the Enterprise declination of Broadwell architecture is recently disappeared from the latest Intel roadmaps. The Enterprise CPUs will go directly from Haswell to Skylake.

This is a big surprise, because this confirms that Broadwell architecture is a failure all along the line: the desktop variant is available just by two models (i5-5675C and i7-5775C), while the Mobile versions are still barely available despite the majestic advertisement.

Lately we have seen the appearance of the new Kaby Lake platform, between Skylake and Cannonlake, so we can argue that Intel is probably changing the roadmap of other products. Broadwell will not carry huge improvements over Haswell, so Intel could skip it. On the other hand, Skylake will carry the new AVX instructions and some other new impressive features.
