Buckeye will become famous soon enough
Default It was one of those days

So today was one of those not so good days when it came to benching.

First I get the Classified all setup to rebench my Core I7 965XE and I get a no post FF error, did everything I could think of and no go. There was some talk about Gigabyte boards doing something odd to Core I7 chips and making them not post again on EVGA boards. Well guess what... I loaned my chip and Gigabyte MB out and guess what, now it wont post. So its off to RMA land, if I can figure out the Intel website for doing this... will just call them tomorrow.

So I figure I will give the P5K and some socket 775 stuff a go. Last time I used it was with a Pentium 4 945 and I get a no post on the board now. This board was a beater and had seen much use, socket full of old grease and god knows what else.

So off it went to the car wash for a deep cleaning and baking in the oven LOL

The socket is spotless now. Shall see if it did any good in the next few days to make sure its dried out and all good.

So lets see what was going to go on that board... E5200, E8400, Pentium 4 945, Pentium 4 9##, cant remember the code at this time for that one. I think some other chips but cant remember now LOL.

So I go ok np lets get out the 790i and put my QX9650 on it which I have not benched yet, I know long story on that chip. Get it all setup and nothing but FF on start up, DANG IT !!

I finally get it rolling and all it will do is stock speed, anything else and it freezes on starting up. Spent much time/LN2 and Shannon support and finally decided the MB is hosed. Maybe time for the car wash for that board also HAHA

So out of motherboards to run stuff on, no more Core I7 chips to run... looks like its back to AMD.
Only Classified, Gigabyte X58 and Gigabyte AMD working here atm.

180L of LN2 here and gotta use it for something.

About ready to off all my 775 stuff as I really dont want to spend anymore money on this socket. Might get a WHS and Crunching rig going with my QX9770 but the rest ... screw it all
I have a machine I need to build for Renee's daughter but after those 2 rigs I think I will be done with 775
