for 3D it shouldn't be necessary, it has it's pros and cons. It'll allow for much higher CPU scores but I suspect it may not have the Game test scores to compete with single socket systems.
Just look at Skulltrail, it wasn't even particularly competitive. OFC, I could be totally wrong, in which case my wallet hurts already
