480gtx died yesterday
error code: 2e - output device not initialized.
visible water everywhere.........this is done to dry up boards fast
Fix / Recommendation:
1. inspect board for cap burst...broken resistor..if found prolly won't save it. sides of the gpu core...also water could have gone inside...this might take more patience/days
2. ipa and cotton buds.. clean off whateer residue you see..they might smell later.
3. convection oven @ 100c don't close the oven...this is just to keep the solders not melting even though they melt at 150+ c
4. infrared thermometer: monitor temps. some convection ovens start @ 200C which is pretty close to melting solder.29$ from home depot
5. patience: priceless
Notes:
1. some have used dishwashers....its the last resort really.
2. alternative: incubators...they come with babies too.
3. alternative: flood lights...200w versions are ok..but the heat is concentrated just on top..it works too.
4. i used a glassware to put my video card into so it won't short anything out. the grill is partly metal..i didn't test for conductivity..and its lil rusty anyways lmao.
