Oh one last thing....
I did some vantage testing a couple years back, and dropping HTLINK speed improved CPU performance in Vantage... however it hurt GPU performance (obviously) so for 2D tests.. at least before you go sub zero try running really low HTLINK speeds . 600-800MHz for Spi, pifast etc.
I do not know WHY that seemed to help (less BUS stress on the die?) but it did (marginal maybe 1% improvement)
