Use Vista DVD to partition. It creates the correct offset for aligned partitions.
Important on HDDs it is even more important on SSDs
You can also use a non ultimate windows 7 DVD to create partitions too. If you use ultimate (or Pro I think) it will force you to add the 100/200MB partition for EFS, it is unneccesary and a pain to get rid of later so just use Vista.
