Default Arconis Backup Software

After the big SSD Raid crash I have been resetting things back up and found a few problems.

Even tho I had downloaded the new backup disk from Acronis, which I have yet to try on a fully working setup, there were still problems with Acronis.

The version I had purchased sometime ago, or... this is the latest update.
TrueImageWorkstationEcho.8353_s_en

This would install on Win 7 but would not run.

So on the Acronis website they have a Beta download for
TrueImageHome2010_d_en

http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...rueimage/beta/

This installs fine and runs without a problem on Win 7 64, at least so far. I am still testing this and will report what ever issues pop up. It also has a 50gb online storage also.

So if you are a Acronis nut case like I am this is worth checking out

Good find Bill.

I swear by TI but I have not actually used it in a while. Whenever I have bad raid drivers I use it (install windows to single drive, image over to raid array). Not really so much for windows backup. Although I might try it out here soon...

I love my Acronis,
But I just started having issues with the laptop and have made arrangements to send it back to the factory for work or a new mother board because it suddenly stopped being able to boot to the Acronis disc or to restore a partition through the normal routine when started during windows.

1 hour is the longest? How big is the partition for a 1 hour backup?

Personally, I've used Terabyte Unlimited's dos based, bios direct backup software. The lastest version has many more options but if you select a byte for byte, bit for bit image validation and high compression rate, it takes a good long while for a 100 gig backup. I know those options are worth it tho because it copies every single bit/byte on the partition including the empty blocks. But it lets you use a usb, dvd, cd, network back up method and handles raid arrays really well. I've yet had a bad image.

When Acronis works on a desktop unit it usually takes about five minutes to back up and about the same to restore a partition.

I am trying AC too.... I have 126Gigs to backup and it does it in about an hour. Using the beta BTW on my WIN 7100 64bit .... Have not yet needed to re-image yet so I cannot speak for it. But I am running RAID0+1 as it is ... So I should never need it right! lol...
