I actually have a electrical line I ran up between the walls of this room to the second floor for my fish tank - it's connected to a battery backup (for the pumps) that works with a marine deep cell battery. Since I don't have the expensive fish anymore, maybe I'll tap it into this room and have a second circuit Safer than running an extension now that you mention it lol PLUS, I bought a 20amp breaker to replace the 15 amp ... uh oh... lol

Check your wire size before changing breakers. 14 Guage wire = 15Amps 12 Guage wire = 20 amps 10 Guage = 30 Amps. There are other factors that will also have an effect on this such as length of rum, connected load, and ambient temps but this is a basic rule to follow. I hold both a journeyman electrical liense and a master electrical license and can tell you I charged people less to install a dedicated outlet than one of my 4870x2's cost. Install of a single circuit and receptacle should be under $250.00 depending on if there is room in the panel for an additional breaker and ease of getting the wiring to the final location.

I had to re-wire most of my house in Florida..I don't think they had any code here...When I did I put in a 200 amp service and ran 2 20amp breakers just for office. Put in 12 wire 2 receptacles on each breaker...Chesapeake is right....You would be surprised how many don't put the right wire with the correct breaker size..I probably did a over kill and could have gotten by with one 20 amp breaker..It is a dedicated 2 lines just for PC stuff...Before I had all kinds of breaker kicks..It makes a difference and is well worth it...

Yeah :( don't think the wiring's up for a 20amp, so I'll just replace the 15amp.. think it's kinda weak anyway. Plenty of room in the panel but no easy way to get it here (for a professional to do at least ) I, on the other hand, can run one if I surface mount it lol. Seriously though, am going to divert the one from the fish tank and use it on the phase rig ... big ass APC on that thing should run it for days if the power goes out
