That is probably why he is getting extension cords to run to another circuit
At least that is what I did when I went out and bought Heavy duty cord.
20 AMP for shizzle the serious bencher needs a room with two 20AMPs anymore with AC units, phase change and 1200+ W PSUs.

That setup is gonna be perfect for pretesting settings Kal. Also would be great for older gen cpu benching, since its cheaper than LN2 and u can score a ton of hwpoints

It'll help guard against melting the cords and its needed to move the cascade off of the office circuit. Do not use ext. cords for psu's btw, not a good thing.
My a/c air unit runs off a seperate breaker via extension cords and that cord gets pretty darn hot during operation as its your run of the mill ext. cord.

I'm gonna see how she fairs at bloomfield later today.
This gufltown chip is getting wicked hot and leaky. It'll need ln2 love.

12 gauge romex is fine for 20A, 14gauge is pushing it. One 15Ah circuit should be fine for the 2stage if its on solo....less extension cords the better.

I was able to run the full cascade off of one wall socket, and all the rest of my compter stuff in the same roon, including another SS Phase.
I thought you had the office power upgraded when we first talked about this stuff long ago ?
hmm my room is ready for a 3 stage

why can't i use my AWG12 extensions? i bet these cables are better that whats in my walls. also active PFC compensates for the losses.
also you can't change your breaker to 20A if they were originally 15A..if you have weak cables in the walls...you'll heat those up easily. breakers are there to limit the current draw out of them.

I would bet his office has 2 circuits. Not even 2400w would be enough for the monsta, a SS and a couple of overclocked computers and all the accessories that go with it.
EDIT: What is the RLA on those compressors?

Yah, its my other 1200w psu, 30 inch monitor, sounds system, accessories and crap running off the same circuit that causes the trip. When I turned all those things off, everyhting was fine. But I don't wanna turn all those things off so

Word.. having a second PC running while benching is essential.
In my case its usually some podunk piece of crap... but it gets me to the bot to compare benches mid run

The hard part in starting any of these Cascades is not running, but starting them up, huge draw of power when you kick those bad boys on.
I very well might have 20amp fuses, I will have to look. I know my old house would not have been able to run the Cascade, some pretty old wiring inside that old house.
