7970 imo was a let down its a dual core but its not up there with the 6990 but I can see why they didn't cuz that would make the 6990 worthless lol

7990 is the daul varient, the 7970 is a single GPU solution that will be the udoutably the next Global whore. meaning if this card clocks the 580 will be on it's way to hardware heaven most likley, I do not put a lot of stock into pre release numbers though. we will have to wait until these things are in our hands to really see what they have. I hope early numbers are acurate as this may push nV to get the 680 out the door ......... but remember last time they felt the heat they pushed out the the crippled 580 known as the 480 to apease the masses

It verywell could be the best Heaven card for the forseable future though
