Not extreme yet, but I listed my quad system out cheap enough to get another 550, board and a 4890.
If it sells. I firesaled it so it should be good. But it is more HTPC with the possiblty of running 3600MHz I guess than a bench machine. 3700 benches was all I could pull on the Foxconn board.. the ASUS board has a terrible "bus wall" at 250 with most bios. Chew said "there isnt" and posted a shot at 258.. but thats about my last point I can do anytihng too... and it starts gettign hard to handle at 250... 260 is right out. Between there.. .you can make it post and bench... TRied the "bus wall free bios"es (hard to force flash) system would not post. Kept getting that "press f1 to continue..."
Goign to give extreme cooling a shot and with 4 cores if it clocks well (4GHz unstable at 4 cores) gettign a foot in the door will continute to not be a problem. Will try and grab another week 21 chip if I can as well in case this one suffers from catastrophic failure
Long story short, I got points now, to keep them however is going to need a Vitamin Hw shot though.
