Thanks Doc

Well I missed the 7PM dead line (what I meant to say is I incorrectly put EDT when I meant to say Aloha Time lol)

Not watching the kids this week, I find out after the ex never shows up... so pulling out my 25' VGA cable, and my bluetooth wireless desktop suite.

The bench station is in the window, going to find a short extension cord for power and should be pushing 4.5HT here in a few minutes

Temps are currently in the 40's (Fahrenheit) only dropping to 42 tonight. Tomorrows high is only 49 though so looks like some day time OCing will be taking place as well

Not going to tweak the OS up tight yet, as I have the second 500GB Black series coming so will just tweak up a winFLP install on some raid0 tomorrow or friday

Going to be an hour or two before I get some boints posted. As I want to move some things around before it gets to late to be noisy

Tweaked poked prodded and pleaded. Still fighting it.

Guess I hit a weird pressure lock on the house or something. Had the rig hanging out the window last night and it made no difference in temps lol mid to upper 80c at +.3vcore

Spent a little time with the 4890 last night too (justr a little. Up till 4AM finding rivatuner plugins that work lol)

Got it installed, added the config file and tracked down a working link for the VT1165.dll at 1.41 volts 1100 MHZ core was not possible at 55% fan

1050 ran fine though and 4.2HTT led to a AM3 score of 285K. 12k PCMark05 (neither scores submitted, as a) cant screenshot AM3, and b) Goign to run Vista and raid for PCMark.

Tore apart the rig, cleaned and repasted the NB heatsink. Reseated Mjöllnir and removed part of the paper mod I did to it.

Results, 5C temp drop on CPU, 20C temp drop on IOH

Duct is not paying dividends right now, but there is only 15-20C temp differnce between inside and outside air right now, and I have not "sealed" the outside air duct. Just giving it a little help

Going to reset CMOS and disable HTT next to see if I can boot windows and try non-HTT OCing. resulted in a 0x50 stop error during boot, if I just disable it and go.

LOL yah turned out to be the right size (and within arms reach when I set it up )

Had to uninstall ASUS smart doctor, as I think it was the cause of some stop errors I was getting. Going to have to go back to rivatuner *sigh

No improvement in OCing after disabling HTT. Prime Blending happily at 1.35 vcore at 200 bclcok both with 21x multi or with 20 multi set and turbo enabled (MSI boards do not lock 21 under heavy load). Ram is running fine at 1600 7-7-71.85vdimm QPI +.3 volts high 50s loaded after 45 minutes (probably 15C higher in linx will test that lateR)

Trying to find max bclock now with HTT disabled, currently working on 205.

Must say I am really disappointed that disabling HTT dropped Temps but that is the only noticeable difference.

Meh, window shopping for a E758 now. Would love to grab an R2E/Classy, but thats not going to happen anytime soon lol

EDIT: Upped bclcok to 215, added a little more vcore (at 1.408 now) .31 qpi, and 1.88 vdimm. Blending happily in mid 60s

EDIT EDIT: No go at 215. Going back to 210, and reenabling HTT disabled turbo, and going to play around with turbo/no turbo since this board appears to not have a lock (although wprime benches may say otherwise)

Going to install Mojave tonight, and finish off some 3D Mark runs. I can't compete with the big dogs there, so pretty much wrapped up the boint grabbing I think.

Looks like Frank is safe for a couple of weeks.

I understand 2D benching pretty well. 3d Is dam hard though, and for some reason I can not clock video mempory at all.

On my 2400XT it was 500MHz DDR, maybe 10MHz OC. And it hurt in all the benches. With the 4890, not much better, maybe 1050 on mem.

What is bizarre is I can run furmark at 1100 Core but anythign past 950 restarts the PC in 03 + higher. Going to pull out the DMM later and make sure its nothte PSU crapping out (shouldn't its a 900W FSP, not the best, but should handle this well enough)

Not giving up on 3d yet.

Installed the 4890FIX bios AND got it working. (Tried the rivatuner thing, its jut not as stable as CCC clocking in my experience). Hopefully smart doctor will not cause stop errors in XP (as it did in Mojave)

Not 100% certain I think the 4890FIX also removed the OCP or raises it at least.

Will figure it out and post up some more stuff tonight
