Have a little update on our project. Unfortunatly I could not be there in person but all is well with me and Tom's first SS build and I am sure D will be thrilled. After having trouble charging it thinking we were out of refrigerant we now think a shrader valve may have been stuck ........ Rookie mistake and although I did this type of work for years I have been out of the field for many as well. but turnered out to be no biggy.
Any who we listened to a lot of advise from some of the best builders in the buisiness.
We started out with 11' of cap by recomendation. This proved tp be way out as superheat was through the roof. after cliping off 4' to make it 7 things started to look better and this SS was on the right track. At the end of the day the cap tub ended up being only 5.5' long so our initial length ended up being in left field. Me and Tom discussed this for some time on the phone tonight. All we can come up with that would have everyone so far off includuing ourselves is the Kale stepper evap has less restriction than the par for the course Chilly one that most are using. Logic being les restrictive evap need less metering length as it seemed the Compressor was starving to death. But being the first build this is hoever speculation. Mabee one of the veterans can exsplain better than I ... nuf said

Evap temp bare naked -72C

Evap idol -55C

Evap under 300 load tester -46C

Evap under 32M load -52

Evap under 1024 load - 49

I for one am thrilled with the results for the first one.
Time will tell once D has it and puts it through the ringer so there it is
