Yes it might be true but the problem is you always need a cold bug free CPU which in Intel world is pretty had to get. I never in my life had on which could take a fully filled up LN2 pot. The beauty of LN2 is that you can regulate the temps. Phase is full force and relax.
Well many clarks and gulfies can be run lower than -150, and that bodes well for LN2'ers. Phase for me will be used to do the pretesting and tweaking, then Ill bring it all together for the final runs on LN2

And thats where SS Phase really shines, in pretesting and ease of use. That was the same thing I found with the Cascade with chips that could run on it.

LN2 has the ability to dial in a temp and keep it so it handles the load, thats something that Phase and Cascade have a hard time with at times.

But SS Phase, Cascade and LN2 are tools and if you pick the right tool for the job you will get good results. The same thing goes for LN2 pots.

Now a days the costs of LN2 seems to be getting rather steep, for me anyway. All the pots, Dewars, LN2 itself, then to say nothing about the time frame you have to use it in, then dealing with condensation and prep work.

A Cascade does its job by being able to use it with just about no time spent on planning the runs, running out and filling the Dewar which in some places is not easy to get. Condensation is not a real issue and being able to filp a few switches and let the machine start up and away you go. Other issues such as can your place handle the power demand of a Cascade, the noise and heat outputs of some units can simply be to much, who wants to sit next to a screaming machine for a few hours.

But a well made Cascade is a thing of beauty and a joy to work with. One this is based on rotary compressors that has a poor tune and keeped running at max speeds can really be a pain to use.

I think of it like this, a well tuned Cascade is like a car driving down the freeway with a nice steady power output and designed to run in that range, its a pleasure to use. A poorly tuned rotary compressor setup is like sitting in netural with your foot pressed down on the gas and the motor revs like crazy. Makes a lot of noise and shortens the life of the compressors. They do use rotarys in window AC units which do not make near the amount of noise, because they are tunned correctly.

btw the Goose has shipped and on its way, tho it has to go around the world a few times. Really the crew is paddling as fast as they can LOL
