It's normal the differences in temps, it really depends on the ambient temps too, my SS would display lower higher temps on the evap when it was COLD here and displayed lower temps when it was WARM. But it would hold the same load no mater what.

Probably the algorithim used on your temp measuring device. I believe some (to save money) just program in a 68F default and calculate the differnce in resistance on the probe itself and get your temp that way. A dual probe is good because you can setup one probe for ambient and calculate T1-T2 delta and see if it is actually running colder/warmer than it reports.
