EVGA x58 Classified 760 memory problem

Now I am not sure whether its the Classified or my 980X or the Ram kit(unlikely) dying. But I am not able to pass memtest/superpi 32m with anything above 1333Mhz CL8. The ram kits have done even 2200 Mhz CL8 and now this. Can the IMC be so bad on the 980X?? Have tried a hell lot of settings and volts but it simply is not working. From our inhouse Spreadsheet to all the settings on EVGA forums to i4Memory......
Also one thing I have noticed is that suddenly it seems my Ram kit doesnt like volts higher than 1.5V on the classified. Another thing, should i clean the socket area which is still covered with vaseline? Or leaving it alone doesnt matter?, since I would be benching soon if I am able to figure out this issue....

Sadly do not have any spare hardware, neither board, cpu or ram....

tb, my primary 762 started having issues clocking and then eventually had an F3 post lock. One of the issues I saw was then innnability to clock up past 1.55vCore. I didn't take notice to my vDimm settings during the issues.
The fix for this was cleaning off the vasoline from the socket area. Shammy related specifcally the small chip near the socket at the top of the board handles the smbus and to makes sure that it is clean. I cleaned the board and it began functioning normally again.

I'd suggest cleaning up the board and re-testing.

 | Okies will be on the cleaning pronto, though its the Vdimm which if above 1.5V then even at loose timings Ram fails to pass memtest

hmmm....okies, cleaned the mobo of all the vaseline goop but still strange issues. Seems either the motherboard or the rams(and I guess mostly not the 980X as I thought earlier) which is causing the issues.
Basically I cannot manually set the Memory Ratio and I cannot set manually the memory volts. It was earlier failing memtest even at 1333Mhz CL 6-7-6, now after leaving memory ratio and memory volts at auto, I can easily pass memtest @ 1600Mhz CL7. Another good news is that I am stable at 200Bclk and maybe more as well....

Any ideas/help would be great guyz, since planning on benching this weekend.....

If I had some overclocked settings in the bios can that cause issues like what I mentioned earlier???

			yep..could be...
 suggestion:

 use one stick of ram.....

 set bios to defaults..

 reflash..

 then set to defaults again

 try stock ....memtest....

 then oc....
 --------------------
 drop drop multi...
raise vtt...1.35v (this can go as high as 190bclks i think)
 try 2:10.....
 lower qpi...
 bclock 180
 vdimm 1.68v
set trcf to 80 or more...8-8-8-24...

 try memtest.....

^ this is correct. always flash with default settings from the beginning. NOT the optimized defaults... the regular-ass defaults.
The best bios I have used on the 760 is a toss between 64 and 56.... your results may vary.
