Strange, GPUz now shows 3 enabled GTX 580s instead of the two it used to show, and look how much higher the score in vantage nVc shows 4 enabled

Wonder if all 4 aren't firing?

Finally got it running good again but the bot seems to be down

*Added 2 hours later* checking out the sli I found that in nVcp I am running tri sli not quad sli. I've moved things around, replaced the bridge.. no change. Tomorrow I pull the quad sli again and check out slot 2. Tried assigning Phyx to that gpu and it took it.. weird

Now I'm thinking it's a driver issue.

cards 2,3,4 ran fine as a tri sli - so I thought it might be the oc key. Removed that and put the bridge back on with all 4 cards enabled, and the nVcp told me I had tri sli. Even though it graphically depicted 4 cards

wtf??

Well, further testing reveals it's not a driver issue either. Doesn't appear to be connected with power distribution either. The most it wants to recognize is 3 GPUs and 1 Phyx card, which doesn't really help with Vantage.

Any thoughts?

Solution was...

Instead of deleting the Nvidia drivers and leaving the Physx in place, I deleted everything nvidia using control panel, THEN, did a clean install using CUSTOM instead of EXPRESS and installed driver 290.53 and Phyx ONLY - none of the 3D or updater crap.

290.53 had been installed and unstable with the mb BIOS of 1201 and bsod'd several times on me. I thought it was the driver and was going to update it. Thought I'd give it one more go (thank god) and this time .. IT WORKED

Somehow, the express install had previously installed a component of 290.36 - not sure if it was that or the other crap, but hey... it works

Thanks again for your help yesterday Scotty

Strange thing is, I had done several uninstalls and reinstalls of several different drivers - even this one did not work until I deleted the four different nvidia apps individually and reloaded that it worked
