Just to keep from confusing the majority of users as I have never seen Firefox abreviated as Fx, I will continue to abreviate it as ff or even FF. As for a manula install of plugins for the Move player, gl with that one as I tried it and it would work for a while and then tweak out. It was however quite easy to install ff and I even had plenty of hdd space for it too!

Yeah Frank, one of the biggest problems with Opera is, if it (3rd party software) does not support actual web standards, it is up to the supplier of software to support all standards...

Move supports IE (did not specify which IIRC) and Firefox 2&3.

As for the correction of FF/Fx.. I was not directing it at you but everyone, hell even the title of this thread (Being FireFox and hence the FF confusion) Opera 10's in-line spell checker is telling me it is wrong. (uploading a pic so you can see)

But for others that may question my assumption of calling Firefox FF is this simple google search

how is firefox abbreviated (click me)

(when you click the link it is FAQ question number 8. Would have linked directly to new site, but did not see FAQ on the homepage sorry. (yup I am a lazy tonight)

(heh heh I never used it before, but ctrl+z the windows undo edit, works in forum posts *duh I know... but removing those functions could really help performance in benching (side note toself))

That has some hilarious posts in some of the votes and what not, despite the nerd vote the common user still uses ff as an abreviation for Firefox and some of those guys get super pissed about it LOL!!! I would have thought Opera to be more likely to draw this type of attention as it's far less mainstream than Firefox.

In a comparison vs IE the first two are probably true. The third is entirely speculative.

I agree Frank that Opera would seem to be the nerds choice, (because of the numbers of features it has that only a developer or severely retarded person would even want to play around with like changing the appearance of web pages, editing cookies, full out network controls etc) However it is also so much simpler than other browser alternatives, since it really does everything any other browser can do, without needing 3rd party add-ons.

So in effect, it really should be the layman's browser of choice, since it is an install and forget about it.

I am truly mystified by this one, it does have the most built in shit of any browser out, is 110% reliable and stable and is very easy to configure and tweak as you see fit.

By contrast, IE = virus magnet, Firefox is catching up on that score while leading the pack for memory leaks. Safari seems to work fine on a Mac but I don't dig the layout personally, Chrome (beta) broke my network settings when I uninstalled it due to it being a steaming pile of cow dung.

To each their own I guess

i think layman's browser would be IE not opera ! opera users are who is more sophisticated in web browsing and want to have full integrated browser but after a while if you use firefox and you its extensions you'll know that over 80% of opera advantages found in firefox extensions . so what's wrong to use firefox ?

and about hellcamino who said that firefox use more memory it's related to you're using . in cold start yes but in warm start no ! even if it use more memory it will be smooth and without hanging !
