I did a comparison a while back, and there was much of a difference with the timings or speed untill I upped the NB to 2600 to ease up on the bottleneck. Fastest Spi32 I got was 1600Mhz 6-6-6-18 with NB at 2600.
Yes its triple effective speed.

IE DDR3 1600 = 800MHz = 2400MHz CPUNB speed.

And yes SPI32 is a memory everything intensive app.

I was talking for use on a non-bench rig. Tighter latency over higher speed is my recommendation.

The Mushkin Ridgeback 2000Mhz 7-10-8s came today. Wont post past 180BCLK. My corsair XMS3 1600 kit is fine up to 190BCLK, with timings of 9-10-9 (never got to try a higher speed or looser timings yet) with 1.6vdimm and 1.25v IMC.

Tried 1.654xx Vdimm, 1.325v IMC, and the same 9-10-9 timings and it still wont post with the Mushkins.

180BCLK 7-8-7 posts fine though. Not stable, but working on it. Does about 2 passes Prime blend with 1.25v IMC. Might try 7-9-7.

I think that may be it. I dont have 3N, but tried 2N, and it now posted 190 9-10-9 with 1.3v IMC. Going to run prime a bit then try 7-10-8 and lower IMC if it continues to work.

Still nothing. Tried with the Corsairs again, and they wont post at 200BCLK either, even with extremely loose timings all around. The board keeps getting to the DRAM post LED and getting stuck everytime I try 200. I tried up to 105 PCIe as well.

Starting to think its the IMC or the board.
