Total noob question here

if you are pouring shit in a receptical that is -160C

does it matter what it is in ?

Having a tough time understanding how specific design would matter like they would with say a water block where design is paramont

In a nut shell what ever it is in should be cols as shit ???

The holes are smaller to increase mass for load handling of hotter chips.

I'm with witchie though.... Strap a small cardboard box to the cpu, pour in ln2, it still gets cold rofl..... Someone HAS to try that...

I know a guy who did just than on the NB once, but with DICE using the cardboard cylinder from a roll of toilet paper.

If I still had my F1 I wouldn't hesitate to drill some more holes in it. Only downside would be the loss of mass. Some people say threaded holes are bad because bubbles get trapped in the threads. I say that's hogwash. LN2 ain't water - that bubble's gonna be very transient.

Vince likes a LOT of mass for temp stability and infrequent pours - that's super awesome for wprime 1024 and pi32. I don't like that much mass because you pay for it with a less responsive pot.

I've got minimal experience next to the big boys, but pot design seems to come down to finding a balance between mass and surface area while working with socket space restrictions. That "balance" leaves a lot of room for personal preference.
