I think you will hit 1150 if it can hold the load.

Can always pop the lid off the 280, the chip is big but way smaller than the ihs

be careful if you decide to pop the top on the gtx200 series cards as you can chip the core quite easily

Interested to see how this holds up. Would think older SS might be okay for some older cards, not sure of the top of my head where 5870 fall in TDP land, hte 5970 was tapped at up to 300W though yes? So I imagine a solid 200W load is doable on the 5870. Yikes!

also I know the same as a cascade, you have very little mass transfering the cold on the evap compared to a giant block of some sort with dice/ln2

Got it mounted and booted it up... Gpuz and afterburner showed temps in the -40s. Saw it go down to -49*C.
I thinking need to insulate the card from the condensation or I might have problems... It'll drip otherwise when loaded.
What should I do to protect the card? Use eraser like on my motherboard?

I was dicing a card a few weeks ago

eraser the front and we used sill sealer on the back and tapped it on.

put a slice as long as the PCIE in a sham wow and stick the card trough it
it shold be tight to the interface

Not a drop

Lol I put too much eraser on the card myount isn't tight enough and is running -1c idle......... Time to redo
